HeroClix Game Overview

Rainbow Sportscards carries a full line of HeroClix, a popular superhero based tabletop game that allows players to basically play out a comic book.  Each individual piece represents a certain character’s strengths and powers.  Spider-Man can climb up walls, Superman can fly around and resist damage, the Hulk can pick up and toss around cars, and Batman seems to disappear into the shadows.  Players can customize their team and have as much fun with it as they want, even combining teams from different companies to build their dream team that could never appear in the comics.  HeroClix is a great game for players of just about any age over eight or so, and can be enjoyed by adults as well.

Friday Night HeroClix

At Rainbow we have an organized gameplay night every Friday for HeroClix.  This is a great opportunity for players to gather and trade with other players, and also to test their teams out against other HeroClix players.  New players can also participate, as there is no better way to learn the game than to play with people who have been playing for years.  The majority of tournaments are free to all players, but occasionally there are pay-to-play tournaments, usually featuring special prizes.  Prizes are given out every week at Rainbow’s HeroClix games, including a sportsmanship prize for good behavior.

HeroClix Sets

WizKids has released a number of differnet sets, all of which can be mixed and enjoyed together.  Rainbow carries a full line of available HeroClix products as well as a showcase full of hundreds of individual HeroClix pieces to round out your team.  The majority of sets are from Marvel and DC, the two major comic book companies, but there are also a good selection of characters available from other lines, such as Dark Horse Comics popular Hellboy and Image Comics Invincible.  The popular online games City of Heroes and City of Villains are also represented in HeroClix.  There have also been some deluxe pieces like Marvel’s Sentinel and DC’s Sinestro, and the gigantic Galactus and Spectre pieces.  It all adds up to a lot of fun!
