Magic the Gathering Booster Boxes, Packs, Theme Decks, Fat Packs
One of the items Rainbow Sportscards and Collectibles have started carrying in depth is MTG Magic the Gathering single cards. The game is the oldest TCG (trading card game) running - 15 years in 2007 - and the player base is huge. Players frequently have a need to fill holes in old decks with certain cards, and they are always creating new decks to try and get an edge over their opponents. You can never tell which cards a person will need - a key component of one deck will be less than useless in another. We just have to be ready with the cards when they need them.
All of our used MTG Magic the Gathering single cards are sorted first by set, and then by card alphabetically within each set. We keep the first copy of each card in a binder to let people look through and read, and to show them which cards we have available. All of the rest of the used Magic the Gathering cards are stored carefully sorted in boxes, so we can easily fill an order when we need to. When we’re down to the last copy of a card available, we’ll pull it out of the binder and sell that one. In this way our in-store customers always know exactly what cards are available.
Magic the Gathering the game produces three rarities of cards: common, uncommon, and rare. The pricing structure for our MTG Magic the Gathering single cards takes this into consideration. With a few exceptions, commons are priced at 5 for a dollar, and uncommons go for between 75 cents and two dollars on average. The rares can go from a couple of dollars into the 20-30-40 dollar range, depending on the card.
Most of our used MTG Magic the Gathering single cards are in what we call NM or playable condition. They might show some light use around the edges or have a little surface wear, but they are still useable. Any card that could be construed as marked or that is visibly beat up we try to mark as such. This is important in playing the game because a marked card can give a player an unfair edge over their opponent. That is why we try to be careful with the used Magic the Gathering cards we sell. |

What is MAGIC: The Gathering? In the Magic game, you play the role of a planeswalker—a powerful wizard who fights other planeswalkers for glory, knowledge, and conquest. Your deck of cards represents all the weapons in your arsenal. It contains the spells you know and the creatures you can summon to fight for you. Trading card games like the Magic: The Gathering TCG combine collectable cards with a strategy game. You don't know what you'll get in a Magic booster pack. You just start a collection and trade with other players to get the cards you want. The best part about a trading card game is that it's always changing. You design and build your own unique decks, and each Magic game you play is different. New Magic expansions are released a few times a year, and each new expansion brings new ways to stupefy and defeat your opponents. The Colors of MagicMagic players craft their own decks, selecting cards that suit their individual playing styles and strategies. Building a deck often focuses on taking advantage of the powers inherent in each of Magic's five mana colors. White: The color of Justice White spellcasters use superior tactics, efficient creatures, and the power of righteousness against their foes. Blue: The color of Wisdom Blue mages focus on using superior knowledge to gain control of a battle, and slowly gain the upper hand. Black: The color of Ambition Black sorcerers are willing to do whatever it takes to win a battle, even if it means sacrificing everything to do so. Red: The color of Chaos Red conjurers try to win as quickly and dramatically as possible, smashing and burning their way to a quick victory. Green: the color of Nature Green shamans win duels through the brute force of mother nature, summoning giant creatures to squash their enemies. What color will you play? It is entirely up to you! |

Basics of the game
The Magic game has five colors of spells and five types of basic lands. For example, red spells have Red Mana in their costs, and tapping (turning) a Mountain gives you Red Mana that you can spend to play spells. Each color specializes in certain kinds of effects. Enchantment
Some enchantments are Auras. An Aura enters the battlefield attached to a permanent and affects that permanent while it’s on the battlefield. If the enchanted permanent leaves the battlefield, the Aura is put into its owner’s graveyard.
Artifact
Some artifacts are Equipment. You can pay to attach an Equipment to a creature you control to make that creature more powerful. If an equipped creature leaves the battlefield, the Equipment doesn’t—the creature drops it and it remains on the battlefield.
Creature
Unlike other types of permanents, creatures enter the battlefield with “summoning sickness”: a creature can’t attack, or use an ability that has Tap in its cost, until it has started your turn on the battlefield under your control. You can block with a creature or activate its other abilities no matter how long it’s been on the battlefield. Artifact creatures are both artifacts and creatures. They’re usually colorless like other artifacts, and they can attack and block like other creatures. An artifact creature can be affected by anything that affects artifacts, as well as anything that affects creatures.
Land
Each basic land has a mana ability that makes one mana of a particular color. Plains make white mana , Islands make blue mana , Swamps make black mana , Mountains make red mana , and Forests make green mana . Any land other than these five is a nonbasic land.
Planeswalker
Your planeswalkers can be attacked by your opponent’s creatures (if so, you can block as normal), and your opponent can damage them with their spells and abilities instead of damaging you. Any damage dealt to a planeswalker causes it to lose that many loyalty counters. If it has no loyalty counters, it’s put into your graveyard. Planeswalkers are rich and complex, and this just scratches the surface. For more details, see the Planeswalker Rules section.
